6th Grade social studies classes at Waterloo Junior High School in Waterloo, IL, USA just finished their unit on the "Middle Ages of Europe." The culminating activity was creation of a "Coat of Arms" for each of the students. On the coat-of-arms, students were to include information about their nation of origin, meaning of their family name, and something about themselves.
